The Hyundai SUV line for 2021 is impressive, to say the least. Hyundai didn’t release any new models since it introduced two last year – the Palisade and the Venue – but their existing lineup has undergone some exciting changes. Let’s explore the new Hyundai SUV lineup!

Palisade

The Hyundai Palisade comes in four trims: SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy. 1 It’s powered by a 3.8L V6 engine, which coupled with the 8-gear automatic transition, provides an enjoyable ride, getting 22 mpg combined and 19 mpg around the city. It has seating for 7-8 passengers, depending on the trim package, which keeps your family comfortable even on long drives.

2021 Updates

Compared to the previous version, the 2021 Palisade comes with more available trims, with the most exclusive being the Calligraphy. The wireless smartphone integration and LED headlights are now part of the SE trim. The SEL version also comes with a sunroof and internal LED lighting throughout.

Santa Fe

There are four trims options, including the SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy – all which include excellent standard safety features like Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. Most trims get between a 23-25 mpg combined and 27-29 mpg on the highway.

2021 Updates

The 2020 Santa Fe fared much better than the 2019 version, so Hyundai enthusiasts are looking forward to the serious changes to the 2021 SUV. The new vehicle comes with three engine options, including a 2.5L four-cylinder gas engine, 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder, and an all-new hybrid that pairs an electric motor and a 1.6L turbocharged engine.

The State Fe is also getting an exterior facelift, with a wide front grille, T-shaped headlights, and 20-inch wheels on the Calligraphy trim.

Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson 2021 version is just a slight variation on the 2019 and the 2020 versions. Like its predecessors, it comes in six trims: SE, Value, SEL, Sport, Limited, and Ultimate. All trims get 25 mpg combined and 28 mpg on the highway.

Cons:

2021 Updates

Hyundai is planning a major overhaul of the line for the 2022 edition, which explains why the 2020 and 2021 versions don’t have any significant differences between them. The 2021 Tucson can be considered as the 2020 version with extra color choices and a modified hood and grille.

Venue

The Venue, which was introduced for 2020, is a crossover SUV that’s the smallest in Hyundai’s 2021 line. The 2021 edition comes with some slight, but significant changes. It comes in three trims: SE, SEL, and Denim (with an exclusive demin-colored interior and exterior). It also gets up to 33 mpg on the highway, so it’s great for commuting or long drives.

Cons:

2021 Updates

Compared to the 2020 edition, the 2021 is now only available with an automatic transmission. The 2020 Convenience trim is now included in the basic package.

Kona

A small SUV full of style, the Hyundai Kona is the perfect city roamer, turning heads since it was introduced in 2018. This year’s edition comes in five different trims: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate. 2

It seats up to five people with 60/40 folding rear seats – great if you’re needing more cargo space than passenger space. The Kona gets 27 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 30 mpg combined.

Cons:

2021 Updates

The 2021 Kona has fewer color choices in 2021, but has been upgraded to come with aluminium alloy wheels instead of steel. Additionally, the Night Edition has become an option with a stylish blackout treatment.

Choosing An SUV

Hyundai’s 2021 models will definitely appeal to those looking for great value in an SUV. If you like what you know about them so far, head to your local dealership and schedule a test drive!
